Welcome!

This is what you'll find here:

Guidance Counselors: You will find information and resources that might help you guide both parents and students on the right paths for them.  Let’s face it, every state, district, school, and student is different, and who better to sift through the information than you, the guidance counselor.

Parents: You will find articles, resources, and tools to use in weighing your options for pre-college credit, whether it is Advanced Placement courses, International Baccalaureate Programme, or Dual Enrollment.  There is a lot to think about, and this is a good place to start.

Students: You know yourselves best, and as you start to look to your future in earnest, you should be informed.  Look through the resources here so that you might understand your next steps better.  Let those conversations with your parents and counselors be productive and positive.  Remember, knowledge is power.

Few issues are more challenging than those involved with navigating our children’s academic futures.  The truth is, that in recent years this challenge has become even more complicated.  Public school or private; sports or service; in-state college or out; SAT or ACT; tutor or study books.  The list goes on.  What this space looks to do is to give you a little help in navigating one aspect of this journey: Pre-college Credit.  Specifically, our purpose is to help you navigate the world of writing programs.

It does not take long to find those both in and out of education to claim that students struggle with writing.  It is equally easy to find out how expensive and competitive getting into universities can be.  It is easy to find students who would benefit from pre-college credit.  What is not easy is figuring out what the best way to accomplish this might be.

Hopefully, within this website, you will be able to find some of the answers to your questions—and maybe even ask yourself some new ones—regardless if you are a student, parent, or guidance counselor.
